Ingredients

  • coffee beans
  • sugar
  • salt – 1 pinch
  • ground black pepper – 1 pinch

Equipment:

  • cezve – the smaller, the better; ideal volume equals two small coffee cups
  • coffee grinder

Cooking method

Before brewing, the coffee must be ground. How fine to grind depends on personal taste. The main thing is to grind it right before brewing, because ground coffee loses its aroma if stored.

Amount of coffee for brewing: about one teaspoon with a small mound per small coffee cup. Sugar – for sweet coffee lovers, add to taste. Recommended amount – half the volume of the coffee, you can adjust in later brews to get your preferred taste. Then add a pinch of salt and a pinch of ground black pepper. Put everything into the cezve.

Before brewing, boil water. As soon as it boils, pour it into the cezve, stir, and place over low heat. Stir occasionally while brewing.

When the coffee starts to rise, remove the cezve from the heat, let it settle, and return it to the heat. After the third rise, remove from heat completely. The coffee is ready.
